Settle into being

A collaborative, affirming space to build resilience and self-trust

Hello, I’m Michael

A lot of us learn early on to adapt, to smooth over our rough edges, to try and "get it right." But that can mean losing touch with who we actually are. I work with people who are ready to stop performing and start living in a way that honors their full, complex selves.

My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. We'll make sense of your past and present, challenge the narratives that aren't serving you, and build resilience from the inside out. This is affirming, empowering therapy for folks seeking to stay true to themselves.

I am licensed in California, Delaware, and Florida, and I meet virtually with clients.

What I offer

These are the different ways I can support you.

Who I work with

I work with teens, adults, and couples across a range of experiences. I work especially well with people who might describe themselves as anxious internalizers, people pleasers, or high-achieving perfectionists — folks who've learned to manage by getting it right, staying small, or taking care of everyone else.

I am particularly passionate about working with Black, Indigenous, and POC men, providing relational
and affirming therapy as they process and work through what has brought them to therapy.

Teens

Figuring out who you are while everything feels like it's changing — that’s tough. We'll work through identity development, relationships, school stress, family dynamics, and make space for all the complicated feelings that come with growing up.

Adults

Navigating life transitions, relationship struggles, work stress, and the challenge of staying true to yourself when you feel stuck, numb, or like you're barely keeping it together? We'll create a space to untangle it all and move forward with clarity.

Couples

Breaking cycles of conflict, rebuilding connection, and learning to communicate effectively is possible. Whether you're struggling to understand each other or just want to strengthen your relationship, let’s work together to create something stronger.

Youth in crisis

In my practice, I reserve space each week for youth and families navigating crisis — self-harm, suicidal ideation, grave disability, or recent hospitalization. I've spent years working directly in crisis care, including time at Edgewood’s crisis stabilization unit, and I'm committed to meeting young people in their most difficult moments.
